What causes skin crepiness and how to fix it

Skin crepiness presents as thin, finely wrinkled skin and is often present under the eyes, on the neck, chest and lower cheek.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sun damage is the leading cause of crepiness, during which UV-induced destruction of innate collagen and elastin occurs. However, crepey skin is also strongly induced by smoking, pollution, stress and age.
In normal, healthy skin, collagen and elastin fibres help to give skin elasticity, turgor and density. Thus their loss can mediate, thin, loosened skin which is more prone to wrinkling.

So what can be done?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At Aescend we can offer:
– Platelet rich plasma (PRP) which harnesses your own blood product to help stimulate new collagen, restore blood flow and improve tissue health
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Resurfacing techniques such as skin needling and laser that cause microinjury to the skin and therefore encourage new tissue laydown
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– PDO threads which provide matrix support to skin initially and produce a secondary tightening effect by promoting collagen
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Skin boosters which are injected into tissue to help with mass hydration and restoration of local minerals and vitamins
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Radiofrequency which helps to heat remaining collagen fibres and causes their contraction resulting in skin tightening and tissue support
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Advice on skin care, lifestyle and dietary support of ageing/damaged skin
