One of the most popular treatments we offer for men is treatment for hair loss. Typically, male hair loss can result from heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of aging. Anyone can lose hair on their head, but it’s more common in men. Baldness typically refers to excessive hair loss from your scalp. Hereditary hair loss with age is the most common cause of baldness.

At Aescend, we want all humans to feel confident in their bodies and in their heads. Which is why we offer treatments for hair loss for men.

1. Initial consultation

During which we consider the course and nature of you hair loss. Looking at potential medical, hormonal, nutritional, psychological and lifestyle influences.

2. Recommendations and referrals

As necessary, we refer to GPs, trichologists, nutritionists and therapists in order to address the root cause of hair loss. You will leave your consultation with direction on lifestyle and dietary interventions, as well as recommendations for topical products.

3. Supplementation

A general all-rounder to support hair loss and thinning in men and women is our oral supplements from @aedewellness. Containing direct and indirect hair-promoting ingredients such as saw palmetto, biotin, panthenoic acid, zinc, silica, iodine, cartilage and iron.

4. Therapy – generally centres on

  • Platelet Rich Plasma injections (PRP) – performed under a local anaesthetic block. PRP helps to initiate the anagen (growth phase of hair), improve the health of scalp tissue and increase blood flow.
  • Warm scalp massage with hair growth serum – aims to stimulate blood flow and introduce ingredients that promote hair growth and naturally reduce the effects of DHT.
  • Red light therapy – helps to reinvigorate scalp and hair cells, reduce scalp inflammation and increase blood flow to the scalp and hair follicles.

5. Follow up

We touch base with you three months after your last treatment to check in and assess the treatment results. At three months, there has been enough time for multiple hair growth cycles, and there is a generally sufficient length on new hair to see it.
